Duke Basketball Committee

As many of you know, forces beyond anyone’s control have affected Campout for this year. Initially, Campout was postponed in response to the threat of Hurricane Florence, a decision made in line with Duke University and Duke Athletics for the safety of our students, visitors, and Campers. The make-up date, Oct 12-14th, was chosen to allow time for our Emergency Responders, who were away helping with the recovery efforts for Hurricane Florence, to return to Durham for our event. They're a vital piece of Campout, but more importantly, they were needed to help those who were strongly affected by the storm.

Unfortunately, the weekend of Oct 12-14th, the dates for our rescheduled Campout, have been chosen as University make-up days for the days of class missed due to Hurricane Florence. For this reason, Campout 2018 has been cancelled so as to not directly interfere with the primary mission of Duke University--our academics and scholarship.

We know many of you have questions, and we did our best to answer some of the most pressing ones below.

Everyone who registered for Campout 2018, purchased meal tickets, etc. will receive a full refund through UCAE. The UCAE Business & Finance Office will process the credit card refunds as quickly as possible. With the great number of transactions, this can take several days plus the time it takes for the refund to show up in your account per your bank procedures. If you have not received a refund to your card by October 15th, please e-mail embusinessoffice@duke.edu and provide your name, date of original transaction and amount you were charged.

Ticket Lottery

We will run the lottery for basketball tickets prior to Countdown to Craziness with everyone who registered for Campout 2018. Due to the extenuating circumstances and challenges this year presented, the only lottery benefit we will give are the standard benefit we give to students who completed Campout 2017 and did not win a ticket.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at bball.cmte@gmail.com and we will do our best to answer them in a timely fashion.

As always, go Duke!
